Mr. Burnett carefully selected Connie Mayer and pollinated the flower with G1 to achieve exceptional and rare results.Riona produces stunning pink flowers, similar to Connie Mayer, and is self-sterile. It is a sister seedling to varieties like Connie Gee, Queen Daenerys, and Celeste.

Riona is one of the sweetest non-Palora varieties even when picked early, it boasts a Brix score of 19.5. The fruit has a striking orange skin with vibrant magenta/purple flesh, offering a complex, delightful flavor. Imagine a mix of candy, coconut, lychee, honey, and a very mild tartness—though it’s not sour at all. This Riona is truly a standout in our garden.
