Thomson is a variety of Dragon Fruit made by the California Rare Fruit Growers. It was named after California Rare Fruit Growers co-founder and Dragon Fruit researcher Paul H. Thomson. It is a large robust fruit that can weigh up to 2 pounds. The pulp is refreshingly flavorful, white in color, and separates easity from its thick rind. This Variety is a Self Pollinating and is known to be a high Producer. The white Flowers Bloom at night and are self pollinating. . The fruit is bright pink with lime green fin tips, the flesh is white and has a sweet tropical flavor.
The stems are very thick and have small thorns on all three sides.
Thomson G1 Dragon Fruit, also called Thomson Guatemalan-1 dragonfruit, comes from the S. Guatemalensis species. This variety is a copy of one that Paul Thomson first found.
