Purple Haze Dragon Fruit is a hybrid variety that comes from Selenicereus Guatemalensis and Selenicereus Undatus.
Fruit can mature to over 2 pounds with a brix score of 19. Additional internet research has stated that 5-S and Purple Haze are the same. The 5-S is seedling created by Paul Thomson and mentioned in his book Pitahaya. 5-S is a cross between Rixford, a purple-fleshed variety, and Niezel, a white-fleshed variety.
